Posted on February 07, 2025

UP recognises academic staff members who rose to the ranks of associate professors and full professors between 1 December 2024 and 1 January 2025.

The University of Pretoria (UP) is proud to celebrate its latest cohort of newly appointed associate and full professors. This achievement is testament to years of hard work, perseverance and outstanding contributions to their respective disciplines.

“Achieving the rank of associate professor or full professor is a significant milestone that reflects not only a commitment to advancing knowledge but also a deep dedication to shaping future generations of scholars and professionals,” said Professor Loretta Feris, UP Vice-Principal: Academic. “At UP, we are privileged to have academics who lead with excellence, innovation and a passion for transformative education.”

As a research-intensive university committed to shaping the future, UP acknowledges and celebrates the critical role that our professors play in driving impactful scholarship and fostering an environment of academic distinction.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all newly promoted associate and full professors on reaching this important career milestone,” said Sithembile Mbuyisa, Director of Human Resources at UP. “May your work continue to inspire, challenge and elevate those around you, reinforcing UP’s reputation as a leading institution of higher learning.”

Congratulations to all! We look forward to seeing the continued impact of your research, teaching and leadership!
