The University of Pretoria (UP) provides programmes aimed at preparing our future students for university life and stimulating them mentally through participation in the wide range of learner-friendly programmes. The JuniorTukkie programme was developed for school learners from grades 9 to 12. We want you to have the best resources at your disposal to make responsible study and career choices.Grade 9 learners are also offered the opportunity to participate in certain JuniorTukkie enrichment programmes and to become members of the JuniorTukkie Club in their Grade 10 year.If you join JuniorTukkie, you will develop important skills and be equipped for the challenges you may face as a student, in your personal capacity and professionally. The JuniorTukkie programme provides a wide variety of services to learners and students, such as first-hand information on study and career options, developing leadership qualities, life skills and study skills, engaging in community projects, and many more.

JuniorTukkies with good marks of over 75% on average throughout high school have almost guaranteed application success at UP.

School learners can also discover the magical world of science with our hands-on displays at Scienza. Scienza makes science accessible to learners of all ages in a fun and entertaining way. Scienza allows school learners to explore their interest in science and opens their minds up to the practical applications of science and research in our daily lives.
