Advancement: Fundraising

Donate to the UP Solidarity Fund

The University’s senior management has launched the UP Solidarity Fund, which will be used to buy laptops and to support students in dire need. The University and a number of donors have contributed to this fund, and other donors have made provisioning of a laptop to the students that they are currently funding. In pursuit of the principle of sustainability, the laptops will be on loan to students and for use by other students in the future.

If you want to donate to the fund, please click here and remember to use “Solidarity Fund” as your reference. It will go a long way toward supporting our students and ensuring that no one is at a disadvantage.

Thank you to our donors!

UP hosted its first donor appreciation and engagement webinar on 15 July 2020. The purpose of this webinar was to thank donors for their continued support to the University during and before COVID-19. Also, to say to the donor community, the University of Pretoria is operational despite the pandemic. The Vice-Chancellor and Principal updated donors about UP programmes during the COVID-19 pandemic, and strategy post-COVID-19. View the recording of this event below.

The University of Pretoria is a well-managed, financially prudent and highly respected and reputable university. Our core focus is providing a high quality of education for all our students and producing research that matters. We try to answer the Big Questions of our society, while caring for the individual wellbeing of our students.

Gifts received from alumni and supporters of the University will go a long way in making up the shortfall in state funding that all Universities currently face. Therefore, your support is essential in assisting us to reach our fundraising goals.
