We also have programmes that prepare our students for the world beyond university with free courses that prepare you for finding a job or on how to start your own business.

These are just some of the ways that prepares our students for the future. Our programmes follow a hybrid approach of online and on-campus lectures. All our campuses and residences are fully equipped with wifi and many computers are available in our libraries and computer labs for you to work on.

We have an extensive list of postgraduate programmes that allows for more advanced studies where we do research to solve problems that the world faces.

When you’re a UP student, you’ll be part of THE UP WAY of life. It’s how we teach and learn, innovate with research and new ideas, impact by using our skills to uplift others and live as ethical, hard working and active citizens who strive to make a difference in society. UP is the only university in Africa  and one of 16 universities globally selected for our responsiveness to our local context. Now that  demonstrates our future thinking.

There’s a vibrant campus life and many different attractions in and around our campuses and transport that runs between the campuses. Remember to apply for a placement at a residence if you need to live in Pretoria when you do your application to study at UP.

#UPCares and we know that coming to study at university can be a financial strain on many families. For this reason, we encourage students to apply for financial aid so that you are on our database in case funding becomes available to assist you. This is just one of many support programmes that we have in place to ensure that every student is able to study with dignity.

University life is quite different from school life. You will need to be responsible enough to balance fun with academic success and extramural activities. The simple way to keep up with your academics is to read your class notes or work before you go to class, ask questions and engage in class and revise after class. There’s lots of resources that we provide online to help you gain deeper understanding of your work.

#ChooseUP, we’re looking forward to meeting you next year! Click here to apply now and make the best decision for your future by making today matter and taking the first step to your success.
