The University of Pretoria (UP) is delighted to welcome its 2022 cohort of first-year students! Congratulations on becoming part of our dynamic, diverse student community, where your academic success and well-being matter.

You and your parents or guardians are hereby invited to UP’s virtual Welcome Day event on Saturday, 12 February 2022 from 9am to 10:30am.

Welcome Day is one of the most important days on the University’s academic calendar; it’s the day on which we formally welcome first-year students and their parents or guardians into our family and community.

During the event, UP’s senior leadership team will be introduced to you, and Vice-Chancellor and Principal Professor Tawana Kupe will address you and your families.

Information about Academic Orientation Week, your faculty, how to register, choose modules and get the best results from studying online, among other topics, will be available during the event. You will also be able to view UP’s campuses virtually.

Please RSVP for the event by Tuesday, 8 February.

You will receive a confirmation email on Thursday, 10 February with a link that will grant you access to the event. Your link goes live on 12 February at 8:45am.

Attending Welcome Day also gives you the opportunity to win one of five UP hampers valued at R1 000 each!
