To all UP staff members working on the Hatfield Campus

Due to the presidential inauguration on Saturday 25 May, a number of street closures will be in effect from 15:00 on Friday 24 May around the Hatfield Campus. For this reason, staff members exiting the Hatfield Campus on Friday afternoon after 14:00 on 24 May should make use of the Prospect Street and Lunnon Street gates. Prospect Street will be opened for this purpose. Both University Road and Roper Street gates will be closed from 14:00 on 24 May.

On Saturday 25 May, staff who are not involved in essential services or academic activities that are time-sensitive are requested to avoid the campus. Staff who have to gain entry to the campus on Saturday may only make use of the Lunnon Street entrance. All other entrances will be closed for the entire Saturday. On Sunday 26 May, normal practices will hold.

Your cooperation on this matter is highly appreciated.

Vice-Principal: Institutional Planning

2019 May/June Examination

Please take note of the following measures applicable to the June 2019 examination period:

Access to campus:

  • Students should arrive at the campus in good time prior to the start of the scheduled examination.  It is recommended that students arrive at perimeter gate at least 60 minutes before the examination starts.
  • All students must present a valid student card to access the campus, (Note: Passport documents will not be accepted as an alternative to gain access to campus).
  • The student cards and biometric system is used to access the campus. Staff are therefore instructed not to allow students access to the campus by driving students on to the campus in their vehicles as all occupants in addition to the driver in vehicles containing more than one occupant will be required to use his/her student/staff card and biometric system to access to the campus.
  • No functions or events will be allowed on campus during the examination period.
