We are extremely proud to announce that the UP School Leaders Conference and the JuniorTukkie App, projects of the Student Recruitment Division of the Department of Enrolment and Student Administration (DESA), received top awards at the prestigious annual Marketing, Advancement and Communication in Education (MACE) Awards Ceremony held at the Johannesburg Country Club on Thursday, 30 November 2017.

The MACE Awards gave the team an opportunity to measure themselves against other role-players in South African Higher Education. Winning these two top awards in recognition of outstanding performance among practitioners in higher, technical and vocational education and training is an extraordinary achievement and confirms that the University of Pretoria is an institution of excellence.

Gold Award of Excellence: UP School Leaders Conference
Awarded in Division 1: Campaigns in the Category: Student Recruitment, entered by Dr Pieter Clase, Senior Assistant Director: Recruitment. The UP School Leaders Conference (2016) received the Gold Award of Excellence as the highest scoring entry in this category.

Platinum Award of Excellence: DESA JuniorTukkie App
Awarded in Division 2: Media in the Category: Mobile Apps, entered by Ms Martie Kilian, Senior Project Management Officer. All winners of the Gold Awards of Excellence in this category competed for the Platinum Award, which was won by the JuniorTukkie App.
