This year's Varsity Cricket competition will be hosted in Potchefstroom again from 25–30 January. It will be very similar to last year's competition, with only a few minor changes and improvements.
The Assupol TuksCricket team will be captained by Murray Coetzee, who was CSA's Student Cricketer of the Year as well as player of the tournament at the Red Bull Campus Cricket World Finals.
Coetzee said: ‘Varsity Cricket has been a platform for many players to take their cricket to the next level and gives other players the type of exposure they would not have got any other way. Also, winning the tournament has proved to provide great incentives for the winning team and, because of that, the other teams will definitely be coming hard for us.'
The Varsity Cricket competition has proven to be a stepping-stone for players wanting to take their cricket further while pursuing their academic goals as well.
Assupol TuksCricket will be playing seven matches in the group stages. Their fixtures are as follows:
Monday, 25 January, 18:00 – Tuks vs NWU Pukke at Senwes Park
Tuesday, 26 January, 10:00 – Tuks vs UCT at Pukke Oval
Tuesday, 26 January, 14:00 – Tuks vs Kovsies at Ibbies Oval

The semi-finals and final will take place on Saturday, 30 January, at Senwes Park.
The Assupol TuksCricket squad is a good combination of new, younger players and more experienced players. The squad that will be traveling to Potchefstroom will comprise the following players:
Chris van Noordwyk (Head Coach)
Curtly Diesel (Assistant Coach)
Blanche Conradie (Team Manager)

Assupol TuksCricket wish their team all the best for the upcoming competition.
