JuniorTukkie and Publications Team shine at SA Publication Forum Award Ceremony

The *JuniorTukkie Office and the Publication Team in the Department: Enrolment and Student Administration at the University of Pretoria (UP), received no less than eleven awards at this year’s SA Publication Forum Award Ceremony that was held at the Premier Hotel in Kempton Park on 1 October 2015.

The aim of the SA Publication Forum’s Corporate Competition is to reward excellence in internal and external corporate communication media. In the region of 150 entries are received every year and include entries ranging from government bodies and large corporates to one-man-shows and agencies. The competition grows in stature every year and the SA Publication Forum strives to continuously fine-tune and streamline the competition to meet the needs of corporate communicators.

The UP team received the following awards for their communication media:

  • JuniorTukkie Magazine (May 2015 edition) – Excellence in communication
  • JuniorTukkie Magazine (May 2015 edition) – Most improved publication
  • JuniorTukkie Magazine (May 2015 edition) – Finalist: Best External Magazine (Category B)
  • JuniorTukkie 10th year celebration issue – Excellence in writing and communication
  • JuniorTukkie 10th year celebration issue – Excellence in design
  • Grade 10 subject choices: A guide for Grade 9 learners – Second runner-up best one-off publication
  • Grade 10 subject choices: A guide for Grade 9 learners – Excellence in writing and communication
  • Grade 10 subject choices: A guide for Grade 9 learners – Excellence in design
  • Fact Finder 2015 – Finalist: Best one-off publication
  • Fact Finder 2015 – Excellence in design
  • Fact Finder 2015 – Excellence in writing and communication

*The JuniorTukkie programme was established to assist learners in Grades 10, 11 and 12 to make responsible study and career choices. JuniorTukkie also develop important skills in order to better equip these learners for the challenges they may face as a student in their personal capacity as well as professionally.
