TuksRugby : UP-Tuks 1 still CC log leaders, but . . .

Posted on May 17, 2011

“One can never say no to a bonus point win, but I am worried that we are not firing at all cylinders. Sooner or later this will lead to our downfall. We are in for a nasty surprise if we think we can beat Police (next Friday, 27 May) by merely going through the motions. On Saturday I will expect a marked improvement in our overall play in the match against Silver Valke. It is time to get into overdrive and show our class,” remarked UP-Tuks 1 Head Coach, Nollis Marais.

UP-Tuks 1 is still the log leader with 15 points after three matches. Police, the only other unbeaten team in the CC first round, has 9 points after two matches.

UP-Tuks 1’s try scorers against Centurion were GD Kotzee (wing, 2), Jacques Verwey (flank) and Vince Koch (replacement prop). Karlo Aspeling succeeded with two penalty goals, whilst his replacement at fly half, JC Roos, slotted home a conversion and penalty goal.

Other UP-Tuks results:

2: Tuks Fezelas 52, Centurion 15. 3: Tuks Pumas 26, Centurion 7; u.21: Tuks Jongspan 25, Centurion 7; Tuks A 74, Silver Valke 3.
