TuksFootball : AmaTuks on brink of play-offs - again!

Posted on May 04, 2011

The team is in an unforgiving mood at the moment as six points (two wins) from these two games means that they will once again have the privilege of competing in the play-offs for a prestigious position in the PSL.

Having been to the play-offs and narrowly missing promotion to the PSL in 2006/2007 season and then missing out on the 2008/2009 play-offs by two points the team are Chomping at the Bit for another crack at the play-offs.

The next two opponents, Witbank Spurs and FC AK respectively, have nothing to play for as they are unable to amass enough points to qualify for a play-off position and are too far ahead to be relegated. This is however not to be misconstrued as an ‘easy’ run in as coaches may use these games to test certain players and combinations and ‘give the youngsters a run’. This results in matches that are hotly contested as the players are now fighting to impress the coach and make a good impression for the upcoming season.

On the flip side teams may be disjointed and prone to mistakes they would not normally make but they can afford this luxury as the result of the match is irrelevant.

Either way, AmaTuks will come out guns blazing as they have everything to play for. With seven goals in their last two matches, the squad at full strength and the enterprising brand of football exhibited by AmaTuks it would appear as if the goals will continue to flow.

The team appeals to all supporters and friends of the club to come and support at the final league match of the season on Sunday, 8 May at the ABSA Tuks Stadium. Kick-off is 15:00 and entrance free!

Hope to see you there!
