Alet van Wyk could not build on her season's best of the previous day and finished 7th in the 2nd semi-final of the 400m with a time of 55.03.

Willie de Beer followed in her footsteps in the 400m and was also eliminated in the semi-final when he came 5th in the 1st semi-final with a time of 46.59.

She qualified for the final of the 400m hurdles on day 1. Wenda run a very good race and was amongst the leaders before fading in the last 50m to finish 5th in a time of 56.76.
