The objective of the campaign was to raise awareness that the theatre can be used as a venue for hosting seminars, conferences and workshops for corporate clients. The various groups presented their campaigns by incorporating the use of social media.
The winning group created a campaign that was built on the current strategies followed by the Atterbury Theatre, but also incorporating social and traditional media with the theme “There’s no business like show business”. “I was most impressed, I have never heard so many new innovative ideas at once. There was a useful tip and critique in each presentation”, said Mrs Reyneke after listening to the presentations.
This challenge gave new insight into theoretical issues, such as capacity management, while still being creative in engaging a target market that was previously out of reach for Atterbury Theatre. “Another exciting real-life challenge, there really is no business like show business, especially from a corporate perspective”, said one of the students when commenting on the challenge.
