Faculty launches its two week long OP 4 Madiba project

Posted on July 19, 2013

The Faculty would like to specifically focus on people who tend to get overlooked when it comes to donations but have a great need. The beneficiary will be identified at the end of phase 2 depending on the donations received. Faculty members will get the opportunity to be involved, not only by donating certain specified small items but also by making up the packets for the donations, writing messages and packing the items in the cafeteria of the OP Campus.

During Phase 1, 22 to 26 July ("Donate some items"), donations will be collected from staff and students. Plastic containers will be placed at strategic points in the Faculty in which staff members and students can place at least one or more of the specified items.

Phase 2, 29 July to 2 August ("Wrap it up") will involve staff members and students in the make up and wrapping of packets. This will be done in the cafeteria, Arnold Theiler building at identified tables. OP 4 Madiba posters will also indicate the location of the activities. Staff members can then go to assist when there is a chance, and spend their 67 minutes during the week to make up these packets.

In Phase 3 the packets will be delivered to the chosen target beneficiary. The Faculty of Veterinary Science is proud to associate itself with this worthy cause in support of Mandela Day 2013.
