Also amongst those to have lunch with the Lesotho delegation were, amongst others, University of Pretoria Executive Director Prof Sibusiso Vil-Nkomo, Mr. Dhesigen Naidoo (UP Director of Research and Innovation Support), Prof Pat Eriksson (HOD of Geology), Prof Hannes Rautenbach (Acting Director of the University of Pretoria Water Institute and HOD of Geography, Geoinformatics and Meteorology) and Prof Johan Malherbe (HOD of Physics).
Various other University representatives attended to the guests from Lesotho during the course of the day. One of the pleasant surprises for the honourable Minister was to see Dr Lucy Moleleki, his “niece in law” who works at the University’s Department of Microbiology and Plant Pathology.
“Good relations exist between the esteemed guests from Lesotho and the University. It was a privilege to open up our institution and facilities to our guests. We look forward to a good working relation with them now and in future,” says Prof Eriksson, one of the key organisers of the meeting.
