BSc Construction Management
Construction management is the management of the physical construction process within the built environment and includes the coordination, administration and management of resources. The construction manager takes full responsibility in this process and can work either as a construction manager or a constructionproject manager.
Various job opportunities exist in the construction industry. On successful completion of the three-year programme, students can enter a career in construction management, or undertake subcontract and main contract work. On successful completion of the one-year honours degree, opportunities become far wider. The one-year honours degree focuses on further training in aspects such as financial, project and strategic management. After registration with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP), students will be able to become professional construction managers and construction project managers
The BSc (Construction Management) and BScHons (Construction Management) programmes are accredited nationally by the SACPCMP and internationally by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) in the UK. The CIOB has a worldwide footprint and provides our degrees in construction management with international recognition.
