The University of Pretoria (UP) Museums are excited to mark International Museum Day with a week-long celebration from 12 – 16 May 2025, with FREE specialised guided tours and draw prizes!

International Museums Day (IMD) is observed annually on 18 May, and the theme for #IMD2025 is ‘The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities’. As such, UP Museums have partnered with UP Campus Tours (UPCT) to promote university museums to a wider community to commemorate this important initiative.

During our celebration, you will have the opportunity to visit various UP Museums, Galleries and Exhibitions for FREE! This includes some of our latest exhibitions, such as Unclaying: South African Ceramics and Bokgabo ba Mašela: Art of Textiles.
