Redundant assets will be available for purchase from the Redundant Asset Store located at the Hillcrest Campus, on the last Friday of every month.
Provisional dates for the asset sales for 2025 are listed below. Note that these dates are subject to change; please refer to the Department of Finance portal for announcements on any changes.
Items will only be available for sale to UP staff, students and retired staff. Access cards will be required to enter the premises.
Items identified for direct sale will be priced in advance and available for purchase via a card machine available onsite. Sales will be limited to eight (8) items per person. All items must be removed immediately. The indicated prices are not negotiable. No cash payments will be accepted.
Certain items will be sold via a tender process. Tenders must be submitted online. The link to the Google form will be made available on the day of the sale. Only tenders submitted on the day of the sale before 15:00 will be considered. The highest bidder will be informed on the next working day after the sale. Payment must be made within Five (5) working days after notification, and items must be removed within Three (3) working days after payment.
All items are sold as "voetstoots". Items not removed within the stipulated times will be forfeited.
Sales take place from 09:00 to 14:00 on the date of sale. Tenders close at 15:00 on the date of sale. Viewing of items takes place on the working day prior to the sale from 09:00 to 15:00.
