Dear UP community,

I am pleased to announce that approximately 160 secure parking bays will be available in the basement of the Javett-UP Art Centre starting today, Thursday, 01 August 2024.

These bays will be accessible to staff, students and visitors at the same rates as the current student parking in the Engineering 3 Parkade. Similarly, the new facility will operate with a ticket and payment machine system.

Parking rates are as follows:

• 0–2 Hours: R5
• 2–4 Hours: R8
• 4–6 Hours: R10
• 6+ Hours: R20
• 24+ Hours: R250

The parkade will open on Mondays to Fridays (excluding weekends and public holidays) from 06:00–18:00. The operating times will be reviewed in due course.
