We want to inform you that the strike action is continuing today, and unfortunately, we have encountered incidents where gates on the Hatfield campus had to be closed due to the illegal actions of striking workers.

Furthermore, we have received reports indicating that it is not only University of Pretoria workers participating in these illegal activities but also individuals from outside who are striking in solidarity with the workers.

We urge everyone to remain vigilant and report any instances of individuals illegally preventing people from entering the campus to the Department of Security Services immediately. The contact numbers can be found on the back of student and staff access cards.

The University condemns the illegal behaviour and will act against anyone who disrupts campus activities and those who are preventing people from entering its campuses. Campus security and the police are on the scene, and we are closely monitoring the situation.

The situation remains fluid, and changes may occur on short notice. We will continue to provide updates as necessary to keep you informed.
