Dear UP community,

We would like to provide you with an update regarding the ongoing strike situation and the recent illegal obstruction of vehicles at the Hatfield campus entrances.

Most of the gates, with the exception of the one at University Road, are once again open for traffic. However, we remain vigilant and are closely monitoring the situation. Please be advised that gates may need to be closed again on short notice if the need arises.

The University of Pretoria condemns any form of disruption to the academic project and will not hesitate to act against those who breach picketing rules. We are actively working with the police to ensure the safety and security of our campus community.

We want to emphasise that the safety of our students and staff is paramount. We are committed to maintaining a secure and conducive learning environment for all.
