It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of Dr. Advocate Dennis Gondoza in the Human Resources Department. Dr Gondoza joined the University of Pretoria on 1 February 2017 in the capacity of HR Legal Manager, a position he was still diligently serving in.

Dr. Adv. Gondoza also acted in the capacity of Deputy Director: Employee Relations and Wellness in 2022 before the appointment of the current substantive Deputy Director. Prior to joining the University of Pretoria he was working at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University as a Legal Advisor. Dennis held a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) in Public and Private Law, a Masters in Labour Law (Cum Laude) and PhD Law (LLD) specializing in General Fairness to Discrimination.

Adv. Gondoza always conducted his responsibilities professionally and was a very interactive person. He will be solely missed by all colleagues in the Department of Human Resources and everyone who interacted with him. He is survived by his wife Gladys and two daughters. He was laid to rest in Masvingo, Zimbabwe on 19 October 2023.
