The ongoing Job Architecture project

Posted on July 28, 2023

Dear colleagues,

The Human Resources department is currently in the process of implementing the Job Architecture project. The aim of this project is to ensure that roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and updated, career advancement is promoted, compensation is fair and talent management is effective.  These aspects are critical to ensure the growth and sustainability of the University of Pretoria.

During the implementation of the Job Architecture project, job descriptions are analysed, reviewed, updated and evaluated within the professional services and faculties at the University of Pretoria.

We have completed Phase I of the five-phased project, as follows:

  • Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences (EMS)
  • Department of Facilities Management
  • Department of Finance
  • Department of Security Services
  • Department of Residence Affairs & Accommodation

We are currently in Phase II of the project, looking at the following areas:

  • Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (NAS)
  • TuksSport
  • Faculty of Health Sciences

We have developed and will continually update the attached list of frequently asked questions, to answer key questions that staff raise about the project. The intranet link is provided for ease of reference: Job Architecture Frequently Asked Questions.

Should you have any queries or require assistance, please do not hesitate to contact your HR Business Partner.

Yours sincerely,

Ms Sithembile Mbuyisa
