This notice applies to NSFAS funded students qualifying for living, accommodation, travel and book allowances. Please take note of the following payment arrangements:

• Book allowances will be paid directly to students via Fundi. 
• To ensure the other allowances are timeously paid, NSFAS funded students must apply on the UP portal, which includes detailed guidelines on how to apply. 

We encourage all NSFAS funded students to visit the NSFAS website regularly to familiarise themselves with the NSFAS guidelines to ensure timeous payments of allowances.

Students who need to confirm their funding status for 2023, may contact Mr Tshisi Masotsha ([email protected]).  Your payment will be processed once all documents have been verified.   

NSFAS has announced that from 1 June 2023 all allowances will be paid directly into the students’ NSFAS approved bank accounts, and that it intends to take over full control of payment of allowances going forward.
