Dear colleagues,
In order to save cost during the upcoming holiday season and while loadshedding continues, we have created a “standby generator priority list.” Standby generators have been categorised as either priority A or B machines, based on the activities taking place on the different campuses during the holiday period.
Only Priority A machines will be operational from today until 4 January 2023, while priority B machines will be switched off. This means priority A machines will be on standby and operational during loadshedding periods while priority B machines will be switched off and unavailable. Please see details attached.
If you feel that any of the generators were incorrectly prioritised and a specific building cannot be without standby power, please work through your relevant Dean or Director who can raise the matter with the Department of Facilities Management – Technical Services (Ludolf v d Merwe). Similarly, if a building is on the priority A list but can be moved to the priority B list, the same process must be followed.
If you have any questions, please contact Mr Ludolf van der Merwe, email: [email protected] and tel: 082 415 4741.
Best regards,
Mr Sandile Mthiyane
Chief Operating Officer
