The Special Collections Book of the Week this week is:
City of Tshwane: A Pictorial Journey 2002, edited by Gerda Potgieter
This 2002 first edition invites the reader to take a pictorial journey across the length and breadth of Tshwane and to fall in love with the diversity that has united the people of this fair city. Tourists, residents and newcomers to the area will find a wealth of information about the city, including interesting facts on its historical and cultural roots, museums and military ties. The reader is taken back through history, shown modern developments and be lured into interesting places that will reveal Africa in its full splendour. The book will leads you through backyards, streets and passageways, and through the townships and suburbs, giving a glimpse of life in Tshwane.

This book is available at Special Collections, housed on level 5 of the Merensky 2 Library, is part of our Africana (ZA) Collection, and falls within our small Pretoriana sub-collection.
