The Special Collections Book of the Week this week is:
Women in South Africa - From the Heart, edited by Seageng Tsikang and Dinah Lefakane
Written from the heart, these stories capture the realities of life as the women who wrote them lived and experienced it. It is a record of personal experiences that have shaped their lives. The anthology is rich and brings together a diversity of talents, views, perceptions, backgrounds and experiences. There is sadness, sometimes there is utter despair, fear and intense suffering. But there is also joy at achievements and hope for a better future. This book says it is possible, it can be done.
“This is the time for the voice of the African women.”
