This concert amalgamates two of Pretoria’s leading and only symphony orchestras. By working together, the scope of artistic choices with regards to repertoire and orchestra capacity grows significantly. Not only does this provide the instrumentalists in the orchestra with opportunities to approach compositions that would have been inaccessible, but also brings the listener closer to works that are rarely performed on home turf. The University of Pretoria Symphony Orchestra and the Pretoria Symphony Orchestra welcome you to our first amalgamated concert and hope that this will become an established tradition.
