Support the University

Posted on November 26, 2021

If you would like to help the University of Pretoria (UP) achieve its fundraising goals, follow this guide on how to make a donation.

There are two ways to make a contribution: through deductions from your salary (staff payroll), which is the easiest and most effortless option, or via an online credit/debit card facility. Staff will be eligible for a Section 18A Tax certificate and be able to claim a taxable income deduction from SARS.

Staff payroll

Go to the UP Staff Portal and click on the following tabs: “PeopleSoft HCM & Self-Service”, then “Human Resources”, “Remuneration and Benefits”, and finally “Staff Donations”.

Once you click on “Staff Donations”, you will be directed to the next page, where you can select a project that you would like to support. You can make a once-off donation or monthly pledges with a start and end date or with no end date.

Online credit/debit card facility

Follow this link to the online credit/debit card Giving page: https://upnet.up.ac.za/psc/donate/EMPLOYEE/SA/c/UP_AV_MENU.UP_ONL_CC.GBL?&Project=GENERAL&

Or you can go to the UP corporate page and click on the tab “Giving to UP”; then on a drop-down list, click on “Ways to give” and scroll down to “Online credit card donation”. Next, click on “here”. You will be directed to a page with a form where you can enter your details, donation amount, project, or be able to select a project from the drop-down list.

By clicking on the “Find” button, you will be able to select a project that you would like to support. If you cannot find a suitable project, you can add your contribution to the “apply my donation to” field.

Thank you for your support!
