The Centre for the Future of Work Launch Series

Posted on November 11, 2021

You are cordially invited to a live-streamed guest lecture as part of the build-up to the official launch of the Centre for the Future of Work at UP, which was announced during the Nobel Prize Dialogue earlier this year.

The lecture will take place on Monday, 29 November 2021 between 5pm and 6pm, and will be delivered by Professor Peter Cochrane of the University of Suffolk in Ipswich, UK.

Prof Cochrane is an internationally sought-after innovator, academic and consultant, who will present a lecture titled ‘The influence of new technologies on trajectories of work’.

He has been engaged in science, technology and engineering for more than 40 years, and his focus remains that of problem-solving and the creation of wealth through the application of new technologies and business solutions. Renowned for his out-of-the-box thinking, he is an advisor and consultant to companies and governments, and an author of blogs, articles as well as books on technology, business and managing rapid change.

The official launch of the Centre for the Future of Work will take place subsequent to this lecture and will also be live-streamed on Thursday, 2 December 2021 from 10am to 11:15am.

The centre will serve as a portal for new insights, interpretations and research that are imperative to the future of the public and private sectors. It will be inclusive of various disciplines and span faculty
and institutional boundaries.
