Invitation to the Convocation annual general meeting (AGM)

We will be hosting our Convocation annual general meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, 19 October 2021 at 6pm (SA time). The AGM will be held virtually.

I would like to encourage all members of the University’s executive, faculty deans, current permanent academic staff members, emeritus professors and other retired academic employees who also form part of the Convocation to attend the online AGM.

As a key stakeholder group, the Convocation has a vested interest in the stature and success of the University. The University’s Convocation structures are regulated by the provisions of the UP Statute (2018) and the Institutional Rules of the University. Your participation would be greatly appreciated.

Convocation members are encouraged to send questions to the UP Alumni Relations Office via email ([email protected]) by Tuesday, 12 October 2021. These questions will be addressed during the AGM’s question-and-answer session.

3.    Introduction of Convocation Advisory Board members by the Deputy Chairperson of the Convocation Advisory Board, Ms Nozipho Mashinini-Dlamini

4.       Address by the Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Prof Tawana Kupe

5.       Question-and-answer session facilitated by the Registrar, Prof Caroline Nicholson

6.    Closing
