The Special Collections Book of the Week this week is:
Lives of Courage: Women for a New South Africa by Diana E. H Russell.
This book is about the diversity of women who made a contribution in the fight against apartheid; diverse in their race, ethnicity, social class, age, occupation, political affiliation as well as kinds of opposition work. The focus of this book is on those women whose political work required them to take significant risks. It is also the reminder of how little credit the women received in the anti-apartheid movement for risking their lives.
Access: UnivofPretoria.on.worldcat.org/v2/oclc/19723691
This book is available at Special Collections, housed on level 5 of the Merensky 2 Library, and is part of our Africana (ZA) Collection.
The Special Collections unit of the Department of Library Services plays a stewardship role in the acquisition and preservation of the Library's rare and valuable information resources, making them accessible to students, staff and researchers, as well as safeguarding them for future generations.
