You are invited to nominate students, staff, alumni and any other exemplary members in the UP community to be counted among the very best that SA has to offer as part of the Mail & Guardian’s 2021 list of top young South Africans.
The Mail & Guardian’s (M&G) annual feature of eminent young South Africans has become one of the most anticipated events on UP’s calendar. The publication’s annual 200 Young South Africans list recognises young people who are actively shaping South Africa and play a pivotal role in building its future.
Each year, University staff, students, alumni and associates make an impressive showing on this list, and it’s time for UP to make its mark once again!
The call for nominations for the 2021 list is currently open and will close on 14 May 2021. We are asking you to nominate remarkable individuals who you think have grown into industry leaders in their respective fields. The virtual event will take place on 24 June 2021 and a special winner’s supplement will be published in the Mail & Guardian on 25 June 2021.
For 15 editions, the publication has featured 200 young South Africans who are on course to touch the world with their greatness. After hosting its very first virtual event in 2020, the Mail & Guardian is proud to host an equally exciting chapter for 2021, in an even more engaging online event.
South Africa’s institutes of higher learning are an integral phase for the preparation of each new generation of trailblazing innovators and leaders. For this reason, the Mail & Guardian seeks to partner with UP to leverage this event and provide a platform for South Africa’s youth to showcase their achievements and developments towards nation-building.
