Invitation: UP STOP THE SPREAD

Posted on March 30, 2021

Dear UP students

You are invited to join the Department of Student Affairs as we launch our UP STOP THE SPREAD campaign with a free health screening and pledge-signing event at the Hatfield Campus on Wednesday 31 March 2021.

The UP STOP THE SPREAD campaign is aimed at promoting constant use of the best basic health practices to fight the spread of COVID-19, based on safe socialising behaviour that always take into account the current COVID-19 alert level and the restrictions attached to that level. As the pandemic evolves, UP STOP THE SPREAD aims to maintain heightened awareness among students and staff of the health practices that we must all continue to implement in every part of our lives until the immediate COVID-19 threat has passed.

Please join us on Wednesday at the Hatfield Campus to find out more about the campaign. You will also get a free health screening for glucose and blood pressure levels, STIs and more, as well as COVID-19 screening and (at a second site) FREE COVID-19 TESTING by City of Tshwane Municipal Health Services.

DATE: Wednesday 31 March 2021

VENUES:

1) Festival Street open student parking lot next to Prospect Street gate (10am to 2pm)

UP STOP THE SPREAD campaign launch, with free health screening for glucose and blood pressure levels, STIs and more (COVID-19 screening available; no COVID-19 testing)

2) Corner Hilda and Burnett Streets, Hatfield (9:30am to 12:30pm)

City of Tshwane Municipal Health Services COVID-19 screening and FREE COVID-19 TESTING

At the Festival Street event you will also have the opportunity to be among the first to sign your name to a new UP STOP THE SPREAD pledge that commits UP students and staff to remaining vigilant about COVID-19 best health practices in every aspect of their lives, in order to continue to keep ourselves and all our loved ones safe.

We look forward to seeing you (safely and from a distance – wear your mask!)
