Staff members at UP’s Faculty of Education were recently rewarded for their efforts to uphold excellence in all faculty endeavours throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Faculty of Education recently hosted a Research, Teaching and Learning Awards ceremony to recognise the contributions that staff members have made to the faculty.

In his welcoming address, Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof Chika Sehoole acknowledged the contributions made by all staff members. “We are really grateful that we have been able to make it through the COVID-19 pandemic and were able to support our continuity plan, not only in terms of teaching and learning, but also in terms of research and postgraduate education.”

After reminding staff that their performance in all core areas is important not only for the reputation of the faculty, but also for their own career development, he congratulated those who had been chosen to receive awards and thanked staff for their excellent teamwork.

The event was attended by the Vice Principal Operations and Acting Vice Principal Research and Postgraduate Studies, Prof Anton Ströh, who expressed his appreciation for the Faculty of Education taking the lead in striving to achieve at faculty level what the University aims to achieve at an institutional level.
