Importance of adhering to all COVID-19 protocols

Dear Student,

Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic some of your examinations will be written online whilst others will be the normal on campus invigilated examinations.

Please take note of the following:

a. To access the campus the following is compulsory:

  • wearing of masks,
  • presentation of Higher Health results (to get the Higher Health screening results click on the Higher Health tile on your UP Mobile App),
  • temperature check,
  • presentation of valid student card/ SA identity document/ passport.

b. For invigilated examinations, students are advised to arrive the campus at least 60 minutes before the
    commencement of each examination session.

c. For online examinations, students are advised to set up in a well-lit and quiet room with no disturbances
    and to log on at least 10 minutes before the commencement of each examination session to ensure that      everything is working well.

d. If you are running late, you will be allowed to start your exam up to 30 minutes after the commencement      of the session but you will not be given any additional time to complete the examination.

e. Extraordinary examinations: Students who are unable to write an examination due to unforeseen
    circumstances or illness, must upload the applicable, original documents within three (3) working days of
    the date of the specific examination that was not written. Students with comorbidities who are unable to
    write the invigilated examination should submit a medical certificate within the said period.

f.  Perusal of examination scripts: Students will have to make an appointment to peruse their scripts.
    Lecturers will inform students of the process that is to be followed in this regard.

Students with disabilities should contact the Disability Unit at the Department of Student Affairs (DSA) to assist them with the necessary arrangements to obtain concession letters and assistive technology. The concession letters should be sent to the lecturer concerned as well as the course coordinator.
