Dr Joel Modiri of the University of Pretoria’s (UP) Faculty of Law (UP Law) has been appointed as the Acting Head of the Faculty’s Department of Jurisprudence from 1 October 2020.

In her reaction to Dr Modiri's appointment, Dean Professor Elsabe Schoeman wished him the very best with this new venture. “Congratulations on your appointment, Joel, and welcome to UP Law's management team.”

She also expressed “UP Law's heartfelt appreciation to outgoing Acting Head of Department Professor Anton Kok, for the services he has rendered in the Department and to UP Law”.
