Returning to campus notification

Posted on June 19, 2020

Under level 3 lockdown regulations, a limited number of staff and students are currently being allowed to return to campus in a phased approach.

It is compulsory for staff and students entering UP campuses to make use of the HealthCheck screening tool, which can be accessed online (healthcheck.higherhealth.ac.za), on WhatsApp (060 011 0000) or USSD (*134*832*2#). Safety protocols such as the wearing of masks, screening, sanitising and social distancing remain in place while on campus.

The Department of IT Services launches a special drive to increase Cyber security awareness

The Department of IT Services has launched a special drive to increase awareness regarding cybersecurity. This awareness campaign will feature different themes throughout the remainder of this year and the years ahead. Staff and students should be on their guard, arm themselves with information, and know how that information will enable them to protect themselves, their families and the University against cybersecurity breaches and the subsequent damages and losses.

This campaign will highlight informative articles over the next few months.

The initial campaign theme, “Small actions, big difference – welcome to the digital neighbourhood”, begins with four articles looking at current trends with respect to the digital neighbourhood we are living in. Although the articles will highlight some technical aspects of information and cybersecurity, it will focus on aspects which are part of our daily work environment.

You are invited to explore the campaign road map, and bookmark this site for future articles and information, by clicking on this link.

We welcome your feedback and suggestions via the contact details provided on the website.

Kind regards,

ITS team
