Appeals process

The appeals process for NSFAS students rejected for funding is now open. Students who were funded in 2019 and were rejected for funding in 2020 for various reasons or students whose financial situation has changed from 30 November 2019 and have not applied for NSFAS in 2019 can appeal using the appeals process specified below:

Please collect your appeals form from the Financial Aid office on your campus or download it from ClickUP.

• Complete the form and write your motivation.
• Submit the form and supporting documentation to your Financial Aid office on your campus. Ensure that all the information provided in the motivation has supporting documentation.
• Motivations without supporting documentation will not be considered.
• The closing date for submission of appeals is Friday, 28 February 2020, at 15:30.

New NSFAS application for first-time entering students

In response to the Minister’s media statement as released on 2 February 2020, NSFAS has re-opened the application for funding for the academic year 2020.

Students who are eligible for applications are first-time entering students who are registered. Please refer to the attached NSFAS presentation.
