Alexander Forbes will be conducting annual year-end information sessions to inform you of the medical aid benefit changes for 2019 for both the medical aid schemes at the University of Pretoria.

We urge all employees, including those who have been appointed via the insourcing process, to attend one of the following sessions to make an informed decision regarding your choice of medical aid cover for 2019:

Kindly note that staff who wish to change their medical aid option within their current medical scheme are to complete the relevant option change form attached. These forms are to be submitted to your HR representative by 4 December 2018 for processing. The option change will be effective from 1 January 2019.There will be presentations by Alexander Forbes, Bestmed and Umvuzo Health from 08:30 to 10:30. Thereafter, there will be individual, one-on-one sessions provided by the Medical Aid Consultants at the same venues until 13:00. Staff wishing to schedule individual appointments are requested to kindly contact the on-site medical aid consultant – see details below.

Staff who wish to change between Bestmed and Umvuzo Health, or to join one of these schemes for the first time (insourcing staff), are to complete the relevant membership application form attached. These forms are to be submitted to your HR representative by 4 December 2018 for processing. The new scheme will be effective from 1 January 2019.

Thereafter, medical aid option changes can only be effected annually in the month of December for January the following year, i.e. no option changes will be allowed during the year.
