Announcement: Revised policy and Standard Operating Procedures for managing medical emergencies on campuses and residences

In the interests of providing a safe working and studying environment for staff, students, contractors and guests, staff are requested to familiarise themselves with the revised policy and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for managing medical emergencies across all campuses and residences. Both the revised policy and SOPs are attached.

In the event of a serious injury or illness on campus or at residences, please contact the Operational Management Centre of the Department of Security Services immediately on the numbers below.

Please provide the following details:

  • A description of the situation and location
  • the patient's condition

Student Health Services is available to treat minor illnesses and can be contacted on 012 420 2500.
