Anti-Discrimination Week 2018 (10-14 September)

Posted on September 10, 2018

To all staff and students

Following the success of the 2017 Anti-Discrimination Week, the University has once again decided to host an Anti-Discrimination Week from 10-14 September 2018.

In sensitising the UP community to streamline its focus on establishing a University environment that is both inclusive and one which does not tolerate any form of discrimination, the Anti-Discrimination Week provides an opportunity for all stakeholders to host seminars, public lectures, performing arts events and exhibitions on diversity and transformation; as well as to take responsibility, recognise, acknowledge and engage in conversations on the many harms and hurts of those who experience exclusion.

Attached, for your information, is a consolidated list of programmes/activities that are being hosted by Faculties in support of the Anti-Discrimination Week, should you wish to attend any of the events.

Finally, allow me to thank all staff and students in anticipation of your commitment and efforts toward building a supportive, affirming University environment that is free of prejudice and all forms of discrimination.

Sincerely,

Prof Norman Duncan
