The online registration process of the University of Pretoria (UP) commenced on Wednesday, 18 January 2017 and has been running smoothly. As of the morning of Thursday, 19 January 2017 a total of 15 581 students have registered for the 2017 academic year.

Of the 15 581 registrations, 2 541 were first years, 11 043 were seniors and 1 997 were postgraduate students. This is a significant increase compared to the same time last year (2016) when only 12 906 students had registered.

Approximately 63% of all registrations to date have been from non-UP IP addresses like self-service and off-site registrations. A telephonic registration help service on +27 12 420 5347 has been available to students from 3 January 2017.  Students who need help are assisted at the registration laboratory on the UP Sports Campus with the following aspects: submission of enrolment contracts, curriculum advice, the issuing of student cards, residence placements, financial matters, international unblocking and general enquiries.

Welcome Day for first years is on Saturday, 28 January 2017 at the UP Sports Campus.

Students can register online until Friday, 10 February 2017.
