A complete shutdown of the ITS Data Centre will take place on the evening of Friday, 30 September in order to perform essential maintenance tasks and IT infrastructure upgrades. No IT services will be available on the evening of Friday, 30 September 2016. This applies to all campuses. On Saturday, 1 October and Sunday, 2 October 2016, short disruptions in network access (approximately 30 minutes each) will be experienced in certain buildings / campuses in a 'rolling' manner, as further maintenance is sequentially performed on the Network and UPS infrastructure.
This scheduled downtime is unavoidable and the most suitable time has been identified as 30 September 2016 to 3 October 2016. The shutdown will commence at 16:00 on Friday, 30 September 2016, and will last until 06:00 on Monday, 3 October 2016.
All the services provided and hosted by ITS should be considered unavailable during the above mentioned period, including but not limited to, telephony services, GroupWise email system, Wireless network, Internet access from all campuses, the UP Portal, QuestUP, all the PeopleSoft applications (Financials, HR, CRM and Campus Student Administration).
The Gmail student email system will not be accessible from any of the UP campuses or residences through the UP network, but will be reachable via alternative Internet access such as 3G or ADSL.
Security Services' 24-hour Operational Management Centre general telephone numbers will remain functional during the shutdown: (012) 420 2310/2760 and/or 083 654 0476.
