Raphael d'Abdon: Dr Raphael d'Abdon was born in Udine (Friuli, Italy) and moved to Pretoria in 2008, where he currently lives. He has read poetry in Italy, Nigeria, and the United States. In 2013 he edited the collection Marikana. A Moment in Time, published his debut poetry collection Sunnyside Nightwalk, which was featured at the International poetry festival 'Poetry Africa' in Durban. His second collection of poems, Salt Water, was launched in May 2016.

Phillippa Yaa de Villiers: Writer-performer Phillippa Yaa de Villiers is the author of two collections of poetry and co-edited No serenity here: an anthology of African poetry, which was translated into Mandarin. Her prose and poetry are published in a number of local and international journals and anthologies. In 2014 she was the Commonwealth Poet. Original Skin, her autobiographical play toured South Africa and Germany between 2008 and 2012. Since 2007 she has read at poetry festivals in Germany, Denmark, UK, Cuba, Sweden, Zimbabwe and Ghana. She won the 2010 SALA award for poetry and 2009 the Writing beyond the Fringe award for her short story The day that Jesus dropped the ball. She is a Creative Writing lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand.

The poets' books will be on sale at the event.
