Invitation to attend informal talk on Wi-Fi provision on and off campus

Posted on March 03, 2016

One of the key educational outcomes of the recent disruptive events is the awareness that we need to look at alternate learning spaces. The SCITAL Forum invites you to a discussion of this important topic which is the first of a series on Learning Spaces. The SCITAL Forum is a science initiative on teaching and learning and meetings are open to everyone.

An important aspect of making use of an alternate learning space is the availability of Wi-Fi and many questions then come to mind: To hat extend is Wi-Fi available on campus and off campus? What is Tshwane’s position regarding its roll-out of free Wi-Fi in the city? How ClickUP friendly are mobile devices and are there ClickUP Apps available? What other learning spaces exist?

We invited the experts to answer these questions: André Kleynhans, Deputy Director of IT, will give a talk on Wi-Fi availability on campus; Dolf Jordaan, IT expert from Education Innovation, will talk about mobile accessibility; James Devine from Projectisizwe will give a talk regarding the City of Tshwane’s roll-out of Wi-Fi. Join us to be informed and newly inspired.
