Posted on February 18, 2016

Scientists from the University of Pretoria (UP) were recently featured in an episode of Teenagers on a Mission (TOMz), a creative and innovative programme of SABC Education, aimed at the youth of South Africa.

The programme explores present-day South African society with each episode focusing on a topical issue that touches the lives of South Africans. It is presented in the country’s various vernacular languages and aims to bring to light various career paths for the benefit of young people and to contribute to building a skilled and educated South Africa. The episode on food security and food science as a career was filmed on the University’s Hatfield Campus and featured a number of young food scientists.
