ELECTRONIC LOCKING OF THE TURNSTILES ON THE HATFIELD CAMPUS

Posted on February 15, 2016

Please note that the turnstiles on the Hatfield Campus, including those at the Engineering 3 Building and Parkade, will be electronically locked as of Tuesday, 16 February 2016. The access cards of all registered students and staff members have been loaded onto the system and the majority of first-time students have already received their access cards. Contractors with valid 2016 cards will also be able to move through the turnstiles. Although we do not foresee any problems, additional security officers will be deployed for the first few days to facilitate the transition.

To protect your safety and the integrity of your access card, please note the following:

  • Your access card is linked to specific access rights and fulfils the same function as a key. It   should therefore be used and guarded responsibly.
  • Do not, under any circumstances, transfer or exchange your card.
  • You are not permitted to give any other person – whether known or unknown to you ‒ access to the campus or any other facility by using your access card.
  • There is an audit trail on all card transactions and it can be traced if necessary.
  • If you lose your card, please contact the Client Service Centre immediately for de-activation of the card and apply for a new card.

Any card-related problems must be reported to the card counter at the Client Service Centre.

Kind regards
