An agreement on the insourcing of campus services has been signed at the University of Pretoria on 20 January 2016.
The relevant parties included elected representatives of contract workers, students, organised labour and University Management who formed part of the UP Commission on Insourcing.
The members of the Commission agreed on issues identified in the agreement, including salaries and benefits, job security, return to work and the insourcing process.
The way forward and implementation process will be overseen by an Insourcing Task Team consisting of representatives of all the stakeholders.
The University will reopen for staff tomorrow.
The Client Service Centre will be open for first year students only, from Thursday, 21 January, and for all students from Monday, 25 January.
