Affected area: Rainbow Junction intermodal facility

During July 2015 the A Re Yeng project commenced with the construction of the road leading to the new Rainbow Junction intermodal facility. To date, construction has taken place next to the road and has had little impact on traffic between Pretoria North and the inner city.
In order to complete the new off-ramp to the facility, the contractor has to connect the old and the new roads. Therefore, slight temporary deviations are required on the northbound and southbound lanes to ensure the safety of motorists and create space for the contractors to construct the new road service. The deviations will be effective from Friday, 6 November to mid-December 2015. Motorists are urged to heed the speed limit and drive cautiously through the affected area. They are also advised to be alert to the possible use of the road by construction vehicles.
Students and staff at the Onderstepoort Campus are advised to allow extra travel time or to use the alternative route via Steve Biko Road extension.
